The walks leaflet produced by members of ALRUG in 2014 – Avocet Ambles 2 – has been re-launched as part of the promotional campaign being run for the line by the Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership, working closely with ALRUG.
Celia Minoughan, the Partnership’s Avocet Line Project Officer said “The leaflet is a great companion for people who like exploring Exeter and East Devon and there are some fabulous walks to explore along the Avocet Line. This selection is just a taster of what is out there, more walks can be found on the Avocet Line Rail Users’ Group website”.
The re-launch took place at Exmouth station, where Celia was joined by walkers from ‘East Devon Walk this Way’ just before the start of their weekly Tuesday walk. Andrew Dare, from LED Leisure who organises the ‘East Devon Walk this Way’ programme said: “It’s great to be working in partnership and promoting the Avocet Ambles walks to our local health walking group. The walks are fantastic and open to people of all abilities.”
Copies of the “Avocet Ambles 2” leaflet can be found at Exmouth, Exeter Central and and St David’s stations as well as local tourist information centres and libraries. You can download a printable version here.
