Carvery lunch at Fox and Hounds Country Hotel,  Eggesford.

For the summer outing this year we are going to the Fox and Hounds Hotel in Eggesford for Sunday lunch.  This will be a joint event with the Tarka Rail Association.

The Fox and Hounds is a few minutes walk from Eggesford Station by the river Taw in deepest mid Devon on the Tarka Line to Barnstaple.

Lunch is a carvery – best quality roast meats and help yourself to perfectly cooked vegetables.  The cost is £8.75 for main course,  £3.95 for starter or  dessert.

The food is sourced locally and the bar offers 3 ciders ranging from mild to dangerous from the Winkleigh press a few miles away!  Come on the train to be able to sample them!

There are also opportunities for a good walk after lunch.

We have invited members of the Tarka Line Association to join us so we can find out what’s going on in North Devon.

Lunch is served from 1215 to 1415.

The 1124 train from Exmouth stops all stations to St Davids, where it connects to the 1203 to Barnstaple, arriving Eggesford 1246.

Trains return at 1552 or 1750 (or 1945) from Eggesford with 15-20 minute connections at St Davids to Exmouth.

All ALRUG members are invited and spouses/ partners are also welcome.
