Until 1976 Exmouth trains started at Exeter Central, formerly called Exeter Queen Street.
A number of stations have opened (and some closed) over the years in the Exeter suburbs, including the new station at Digby & Sowton, funded by Tesco and Devon CC, opened in 1975. The large US Navy yard at Newcourt is now being built on and may one day have its own new station.
